Northland Towers, Plaza Building Common Areas
Part of a three-building campus, the Plaza building features eleven floors and two stairwells. In this commercial case study, the customer aimed to upgrade the common areas—hallways, lobbies, and restrooms—to energy-efficient LED lighting. Additionally, the customer requested that the stairwells be completed separately (see below). We successfully executed the lighting upgrade across all three buildings on the campus, as well as in the parking lots, utilizing DTE incentives for enhanced energy savings.
Northland Towers , Plaza Building Stairwells
This project involved a lighting upgrade for the stairwell, converting two T12 lamps to a single LED lamp per fixture. This LED lighting solution not only increased illumination but also led to significant energy savings, which is highlighted by the before and after pictures. Additionally, this initiative aligns with various commercial case studies showcasing the benefits of DTE incentives for energy-efficient upgrades.
Schain Mold & Engineering
Our manufacturing and injection molding facility features a 37,000 sq ft shop area, where we recently completed a significant lighting upgrade. We converted the high bay 400 w metal halide lighting to 120 w 5000k LED corn cob lamps. This transition not only enhanced energy savings but also created a brighter and safer workspace. Unlike metal halide lamps, which lose brightness over time more quickly, LED lighting provides a more consistent illumination. Additionally, we upgraded the exterior wall packs to LED, taking full advantage of DTE incentives and contributing to our commercial case studies on energy efficiency.
Crain Communications
Crain Communications is a leading news and business information company. Recently, they undertook a significant lighting upgrade at their printed media facility, which includes a spacious shop area where lighting is crucial for both safety and product quality. By utilizing the 150w LED UFO high bay fixture to replace the 170 outdated 750w metal halide fixtures, they achieved remarkable energy savings. Additionally, the old T8 fluorescent tubes were replaced with more efficient LED lighting options, including 4ft, 8ft, and 4ft U-bend lamps. This upgrade not only enhanced the facility's lighting but also aligned with DTE incentives, making it a valuable case study in commercial energy efficiency.
